The Preserving Machine (1969)
The Preserving Machine has been out of print for more than 20 years but the short story is available in other collections. The Gollancz edition of "The Preserving Machine" was briefly published under the title "The Philip K. Dick Omnibus" before it was withdrawn from circulation because the title was already used for a another book. This is most likely the rarest of all P.K. Dick books featured on this website. An unpublished foreword to The Preserving Machine, by Philip K. Dick himself can be read here.
